This guide describes the current iPhone beta. Controls can change during TestFlight, and some features depend on the build or platform.
Get started
Install Fennec using the public TestFlight link and open it on iPhone.
Add a show through search or with its feed URL. Core listening features do not require an account.
Download an episode when you want offline playback or a local analysis that needs the audio file.
Arrange Home
Home can include Playing Next, Continue Listening, playlists, and favorites.
In customization, choose visible sections, their order, style, and item count.
Some advanced options can vary during the beta.
Use Playing Next
Add an episode to Playing Next from its page or an action menu.
Drag episodes to change the order. Remove one without marking it finished.
Your local queue remains the reference if a remote service is temporarily unavailable.
Tune playback
Use skip controls, speed, and the sleep timer from the player.
Voice Boost, mono audio, Shorten Silences, noise reduction, De-Esser, and EQ appear according to platform and build.
Audio effects require a downloaded episode; Noise Reduction, De-Esser, and EQ require Premium.
Start with one setting at a time so its effect is easy to hear.
Understand Skip Music
Music Detection analyses a downloaded episode locally and places segments on the audio timeline.
Red segments can be skipped; blue segments can play at 1× while the rest keeps your chosen speed.
Music Detection requires Premium. Availability also varies by device and beta build.
Detection is an experimental beta: results can be inconsistent and analysis uses extra battery and processing time.
Read transcripts and chapters
Open Transcript in the player when a show supplies one or a compatible local transcript has been created.
Tap a passage or chapter to jump directly to that moment.
Local transcription and generated chapters require Premium. Availability also varies by iPhone model, language, system version, and beta build.
Check the Calendar
Calendar brings recent releases and likely dates together, based on each show’s publishing rhythm.
A forecast is not a publisher announcement; it can change if a show changes its schedule.
Listen on the Web
The Web Player is available at fennec-podcast.com/player in a modern browser.
Account-linked sync is still in beta and may not be available for every account or build. A network error does not erase local player state.
Secure playlists and their contents never appear in the Web Player.
